A weekend of shopping or a fun outing in London: it can now be even simpler. Eurostar introduces a fifth daily direct train on this route. Also great for those who prefer not to fly.

In February last year, the Eurostar terminal in Amsterdam opened, and you can also catch this extra train there. Thanks to the terminal, Eurostar was able to triple the capacity on the route: from 275 passengers per train in 2024 to over 650 per train by the end of 2025. And what turns out? It's a hit. This year, almost a million passengers have already traveled by train between the Netherlands and England - that's already more than last year.

According to CEO Gwendoline Cazenave, the expansion aligns with a long-term trend. “Amsterdam-London is one of the busiest flight routes in Europe. With five daily round trips and more than three thousand seats per day, we offer a sustainable and efficient alternative to air travel.” The route is important for Eurostar, as the Dutch love to travel frequently. In 2024, 4.3 million Eurostar passengers traveled to or from the Netherlands, with Paris as the most popular destination.

People are choosing the train more often because of sustainability. A trip with Eurostar emits on average 93 percent less CO2 than the same trip by car. Additionally, the company is working on reducing food waste through donation programs to food banks in London and Paris. In France, unsold food that cannot be stored is processed into compost.

2for1: extra benefit for museum lovers

Those traveling with Eurostar to London can also take advantage of the 2FOR1 program: upon presenting a Eurostar ticket, you receive two admission tickets for the price of one at several London museums. Both large museums and smaller art locations participate, so the offer is broad.

all aboard

Eurostar is also just easy. Travel time remains competitive: you arrive in Paris 3 hours and 19 minutes after boarding in Amsterdam, and the trip from Amsterdam to Brussels takes 1 hour and 51 minutes. No hassle with taxis from the airport, no weight limits on luggage, and there is free wifi on board. And especially for you as a comfort lover, Eurostar Premier offers extra amenities, such as more legroom, access to the renovated lounges, and onboard meals developed by chefs. Now we’re talking!

In the premier class, dishes are served that are composed by, among others, Michelin-starred chef Jérémy Chan and pastry chef Jessica Préalpato. The drinks menu, developed by sommelier Honey Spencer, includes organic wines and biodynamic champagnes. Moreover, Eurostar introduced its own beer, Pain de Minuit, brewed from leftover bread. In the middle of the night, if we may believe the romantic name, and otherwise we just imagine it ourselves.
