Porn star Kevin Warhol: “A serious relationship is like cooking to me”

In early 2013, editor Martijn Kamphorst interviewed Czech porn star Kevin Warhol. Here is the full interview from our archives!

Although not biologically related to Andy, Kevin Warhol has surely perfected a form of art. Colorful and controversial, but most likely not on exhibition at your everyday museum. Kevin started working as a porn actor with the famous Czech studio BelAmi about four years ago and has quickly become one of their most popular models. He talks to us about his first steps in the industry, his private life and having sex with himself. 

Was your father’s name Andy and did he do something with art? But seriously, where does your alias come from? 

“My father’s name isn’t Andy Warhol, obviously! George Duroy [the founder of BelAmi, ed.] gave me my stage name and at first I honestly had no idea who Andy Warhol was or whether he was even famous. But now I do. All those great pictures. I am truly proud of having this name.”

What does the tattoo on your neck stand for? 

“It’s just an image I liked; a little dragon coming out of my neck. I got it when I was young and thought I was badass… I really wanted a cool tattoo that everybody could see. Now everybody sees it but me, unless I look in the mirror [laughs]. ”

How and when did you end up doing porn?

“It all started four years ago when I was in college. One of my friends suggested me to take some photos of myself in action and send them to BelAmi. It went so fast from there! My decision to start working with them was easy. I quickly made friends with the people at BelAmi and they are sort of my family now.”

Often, when guys start doing porn, they start out quite skinny and within a time span of two to three years they’re as big as gorillas. How often do you and your colleagues work out to achieve such muscular bodies?

“It simply works like that: you start in the industry, you’re all soft and skinny and then all these masculine, handsome, muscular guys surround you. And you think to yourself, I want to look just like that. So you go to the gym, do some push-ups and things like that and suddenly you’re toned and you notice that people now look at you. It takes less than an hour a day and constantly watching your diet.”

What career did you dream of as a child?

“Hmm, when I was a child I just always wanted to be an adult. Now that I am though, I want to be a child again! I was maybe a bit different than the others who wanted to be astronauts, doctors and so on. I just wanted to be as big as the adults. They were the ones that could go to parties, have fun, and I just thought, how’s this possible, I want that too! And now bang, I’m ‘big’, earning money and everything. Sometimes, I’d like to go back to my days as a child, but that’s not going to happen. Maybe I should have dreamed of being an astronaut. Everything could have been a lot easier. Who knows?”

Are you gay yourself? If not, do you have sex with men off-camera as well?

“Good question. It might seem as if I only do it in front of the camera but I also have my private life. I am bisexual. I enjoy it both ways. And, to me, it’s almost as exciting on camera as in private. In my life, it works like this: during filming I have the chance to sleep with my friends. Off-camera, I grew into a sex-coaching role, which I am really happy about. So when a new guy comes to shoot with us, they come to me first. Basically, I am the only one who has a taste of everyone who turns up here. And then I have time for my own dates outside of the company, with boys and with girls, and there are lots. Yes I have fun, that’s the important thing. I liked that question.”

Do you enjoy sex on camera just as much as off-camera, and are you able to separate the two?

“Sure, I can separate the two but I enjoy sex during filming too. It is not only about acting. I enjoy every moment I can screw with someone, so those two are the same for me. In private, there are no cameras but I am so used to them that I don’t notice them during scenes either. I only see my partner who I may never have again and that’s why I better try him out.”

Do you think it’s possible to maintain a serious relationship with this job?

“Nice, hard question. Yeah, it’s possible in my opinion to have a relationship while doing this work, but it’s not for me yet. So far, I am loyal to my job and I like the freedom and everything that comes with it. I’ll take my time before having a serious relationship. Maybe in about six, seven, ten, eleven years? I have loads of time to have fun now. When I’m older, there will be no way back I think, to enjoy life.”

What do you think makes a serious relationship? What do you think is needed to have one?

“Well, I don’t have much experience, but surely what’s needed is honesty. And maybe not being too jealous? A serious relationship is like cooking to me. A pinch of that, a bit of that until it’s all tiptop. But most importantly, it takes honesty. Without honesty a relationship is nothing. If people don’t trust each other then they shouldn’t be with each other. Yeah, honesty it is.”

Do you have many friends in the industry?

“I have a lot of friends here at BelAmi, that’s for sure. But these are actually guys I see as family. Every time I needed it, they helped me and vice versa. They are the people I trust, now and forever. They are my family. I got so close with the industry here… and it is here I’ll stay. Besides the BelAmi-gang, I don’t have many contacts in the porn industry.”

How long does it take to shoot a film, and how on earth do you manage to keep ‘Kevin junior’ up and running?

“[laughs and thinks for a while] It’s different every time. I don’t know beforehand if it’ll take thirty minutes or five hours. And how to keep junior up, damn, I don’t know. You have a handsome guy there in front of you… nice butt, cock… everybody must get a hard on, no? It just happens. Sometimes it gets softer, then it gets harder again, down and up, down and up, but it’s hard when it has to be. I think anybody who would be on my spot would stay hard. It’s not complicated at all. But about the time it takes to shoot, I really don’t know.”

Do you have a protein deficiency, because in every other video you seem to swallow a load? Do you get paid extra for that?

“This is a good one, funny. I’ll never forget one scene, there were – how many was it – twelve boys, twelve boys… it was the biggest group scene I’d been in. And they all loaded me. Since then, I am known as little Kevin who lets others come on him… I don’t get paid extra for it though. It all goes with porn and always will. It’s fun and it’s cool. Those are my proteins as you said. Without protein I wouldn’t exist and grow.”

Fleshjack molds of your penis, ass and mouth are available in many gay shops. Have you ever used them on yourself, and if so, how weird was that?

“Sure I’ve tried them. Four of us – myself, Dolph (Lambert), Kris (Evans), Jean-Daniel (Chagal) – had the chance to use our own molds in a documentary episode which you’ll surely find on the Dutch BelAmi website. I really recommend watching how we all switched the dildos around. That was so much fun! But as you’re asking me directly, yeah, I have tried how it is to do Kevin’s ass. I was thinking whether to stick it in or not but I was just too horny. It was a great feeling and I can only hope my ass is just as great [laughs]. And so I came and I started wondering: ‘isn’t it weird to come inside my own ass?’. Well, maybe a bit but it was so awesome I did it again. It then became my new favorite toy.”

The guys at BelAmi seem to have a lot of fun with each other. It’s like a big happy porn family. Could you describe the work ethic at BelAmi for a bit?

“That is correct; working at BelAmi does feel like being part of a family. Once you are in our family, we help you, trust you and we spend time together. It depends on the model’s attitude though: some guys fit right into this family; others just want to make some money and don’t care about anything else. Once you are part of the family though, as I said before, there is a very strong connection. We enjoy our lives here!”

Do you get a lot of response from fans? What’s the most unusual response you’ve received?

“Usually, I don’t get messages directly, but I do read them on the websites. I must say, they’re good for my ego and my confidence. This work is much more fun when the fans keep writing such great stuff about me. I like all of the comments, the good ones and the bad ones. Good ones make me happy and the bad ones push me further. Just keep sending them so I know whether I’m doing okay or if you should change something.”

For how long do you plan to keep working in porn, do you have other ambitions as well? 

In sex, I am doing and trying everything I want to right now. I want to stay in this industry for the rest of my life. I hope I won’t have to do porn movies until my 60s, but I want to be in this industry and with BelAmi forever. As I said in the beginning, they’re family and I won’t let go of them. Any plans I have for the future would be here.
